Lederer of Czechoslovakia. We are are from the Charles (Carl) F. Lederer side. He died in Buffalo N. Y. in 1876.

I have heard about the Lederer reunions from my father, but they conflict with an annual professional commitment. I hope to attend someday. Until then, I will watch this page for more details about my extended relatives. Thanks to all for their work on the Lederer history. I will enjoy sharing this with my two daughters, Alexandra (5-22-88) and Madeline (11-30-91) as they grow older. For the moment, they think it is "way cool that their great, great grandparents' photograph can be seen on the internet.

Relationship: Congratulations to your great homepage and the research done. I wonder if I have any relation to your family, nevertheless it is interesting to see that so many people share this family name. My grandfather Karoly (Charles) Lederer was born in Prague (or Brno) at the turn of the century, my father Sandor (Alexander) Lederer in Budapest, Hungary in 1910. A branch of Karoly,s family lived in Czechoslovakia. Rudolf Lederer was the last one my grandfather had contact with, his letter from a small town, Vodnany, where he owned a small textile factory, the Rulco, dated 1939 was the last piece of information from them. Its very likely that they were killed by the nazis. Rudolf had two or three children aged between 3 and 10 at the begining of the war. I have tried to find out more about them, but with not much success. I would very much appreciate if someone could help me get further in my "research". I,m a journalist, working for the major Hungarian daily newspaper (Nepszabadsag), am posted now as correspondent in Bonn, Germany. I,m married, have two sons (13, 15). My brother, Karoly is a civil engineer and lives with his family in Budapest.
